What are the defects?

Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear wheels hub bolts securing the wheel hub assembly may not have been tightened sufficiently. As a result, the bolts may become loose or break over time. If this occurs, the wheel hub and brake assembly could separate leading to a loss of trailer control and/or detachment while it is being towed.

What are the hazards?

A loss of trailer control and/or detachment from the tow vehicle will increase the risk of an accident potentially resulting in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorised Patriot Campers dealer to arrange for an appointment to have the work carried out, free of charge.

Note: If the trailer is in use, owners should tighten the bolts to 90 Nm (DO NOT EXCEED 90 Nm) and limit use of the trailer until the recall has been completed. If the trailer must be used, bolt torque should be checked regularly.
