What are the defects?
The brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) may fail or malfunction. As a result, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System may not operate as intended. This may result in a reduced braking performance and a loss of vehicle control.
What are the hazards?
A reduction in braking performance and/or a loss of vehicle control could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.
What should consumers do?
Once a remedy becomes available, American Special Vehicles will contact affected owners in writing requesting they contact an Authorised RAM Dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge.
