What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing issue, the shock absorber mounting bracket may have insufficient strength under certain operating conditions and may crack. If this occurs, the effectiveness of the suspension system may be reduced, which could result in reduced caravan stability or control.
What are the hazards?
Reduced caravan stability or control could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Elross Caravans and asked to arrange an inspection and repair with an authorised dealer or Elross Caravans, free of charge.
Owners should contact Elross Caravans for advice on safely using the caravan until the repair is completed. Additionally,
• Limit your heavy off-road or corrugated-road travel with the caravan if possible.
• Before any necessary road travel, visually check the shock-mount plates, brackets and surrounds.
