What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the headlamp low/high beam selector may have been wired incorrectly. As a result, the high-beam and low-beam functions may operate opposite to the driver’s selection, causing excessive glare to oncoming traffic and other road users.
What are the hazards?
Excessive glare to oncoming traffic could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Volvo Group Australia to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and rectified, free of charge.
