What are the defects?

Due to a calibration issue the headlights may not distribute the high beam correctly when advanced full beam assist is active. As a result, oncoming traffic may experience excessive headlight glare.

What are the hazards?

If the vehicle headlights do not operate as intended, it could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

What should consumers do?

Note: Drivers should not use the advanced full beam assist function until the rectification has been completed.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Volkswagen Group requesting them to contact their authorised dealership to have the software updated, free of charge.
