What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, affected vehicles may have been assembled with insufficient clearance between the gasoline particulate filter pipe and the pole protection cup of the 48V belt starter generator. Under wet conditions, this could cause an electrical hazard and lead to overheating resulting in a fire within the engine compartment.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire increases the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and/or damage to property.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Peugeot requesting them to schedule an appointment with their local dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
