What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel pipe connecting fuel rails may become loose. This may lead to a fuel leak and in the presence of an external ignition source, could result in a vehicle fire.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire could cause injury or death to the vehicle occupants, other road users and/or damage to property.
What should consumers do?
Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted asking them to schedule an appointment with an authorised Genesis Service Centre to have the rectification carried out, free of charge.
