What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the connection to the driver’s airbag clock spring may corrode over time and lead to an increased resistance in the airbag circuit. As a result, the airbag may fail to deploy in the event of an accident.
What are the hazards?
In the event of an accident, the airbag not deploying as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Jaguar Land Rover in writing asking them to contact their nearest authorised dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
