What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the high-pressure fuel pipe nuts may be insufficiently torqued and could become loose over time. This may lead to a fuel leak and in the presence of an external ignition source, could result in a vehicle fire.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire could cause injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles can contact their preferred Kia dealership to schedule an appointment to have the fuel pipe inspected and replaced, free of charge.
