What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the Front Underrun Protection System (FUPS) fitted to affected vehicles may have ground clearance that exceeds the compliance standard.
What are the hazards?
In the event of a frontal collision, a smaller vehicle may not adequately be prevented from passing underneath the truck and as such may result in serious injury or death to its occupants.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted and asked to book an appointment with their preferred DAF dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
