VIN (Vehicle identification number)

What are the defects?

Due to a manufacturing issue, the handlebar bolt may not have been fastened with sufficient torque and could become loose. This could lead to a loss of vehicle control whilst riding.

What are the hazards?

A loss of vehicle control whilst riding could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to rider, passenger and/or other road users.

What should consumers do?

Replacement parts are not yet available. As an interim solution, owners will be contacted to have their vehicles inspected by authorized dealership who will mark the screw and instruct owners to check alignment before each ride. Riding may continue if the mark remains aligned. If the alignment moves, riders should stop riding and contact the dealership. All inspections and related work are free of charge. A permanent repair will be offered when parts become available.
