What are the defects?
Due to a Transmission Control Module (TCM) programming issue, the transmission may rev faster than intended causing a loss of motive power and transmission fluid to leak. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a vehicle fire whilst driving.
What are the hazards?
A loss of motive power whilst driving and/or a vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and/or damage to property.
