What are the defects?
The Antilock Brake System (ABS) fuses/and or fuse box holders, may have been incorrectly installed during the wiring assembly. As a result, the ABS unit may not be adequately protected, and the fuse could blow deactivating the ABS system while braking. If this occurs during a hard braking situation, the ABS will not function, and the front and/or rear wheel may lock, potentially leading to a loss of vehicle control.
Note: The ABS warning light will appear on the instrument cluster to alert the rider that the ABS function is no longer available.
Note: The ABS warning light will appear on the instrument cluster to alert the rider that the ABS function is no longer available.
What are the hazards?
A loss of vehicle control whilst braking, could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death of rider, passenger and/or other road users.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Ducati in writing asking them to schedule an appointment with their local authorised Ducati Service or authorised Ducati Dealer to have work carried out, free of charge.
