What are the defects?

Due to improper assembly, the battery isolation switch may be susceptible to water ingress. As a result, the rollover sensor could send an incorrect signal to the battery leading to a sudden loss of motive power whilst driving.

What are the hazards?

A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Volvo group requesting to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, replace the rollover sensor free of charge.
