What are the defects?
The brake rotor stud holes may not have been manufactured to specifications causing assembly variance of the hub and rotor. As a result, the wheel nuts may not retain sufficient torque and could become loose. If this occurs, the wheel may detach from the vehicle whilst driving.
What are the hazards?
If the wheel detaches from the vehicle whilst driving, this will result in a loss of stability and control, increasing the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, road users, bystanders, and/or damage to property.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles should contact CRUISEMASTER AUSTRALIA, the manufacturer or their dealer to have the caravan inspected and if required rectified, free of charge.
Note: Owners should tighten the wheel nuts and should limit use of the trailer until it has been professionally inspected.
