What are the defects?

Due to a manufacturing defect in the vehicle’s trailer connection electrical components, the trailer stop lamps may not operate as intended. This could result in road users being unable to identify when the vehicle is braking. Additionally, any flammable material kept near the electrical components may result in a vehicle fire.

What are the hazards?

A road user unable to identify the vehicle whilst braking could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/ or other road users. In extreme conditions, there might be a risk of fire in case any flammable material stored and/ or kept near electrical component.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicle can contact their authorised Daimler commercial vehicle dealership as soon as possible to have the work carried out, free of charge.
