What are the defects?

During manufacture the airbag control unit may not have been secured to the vehicle correctly and may detect incorrect acceleration values whilst driving.

What are the hazards?

Due to the incorrect acceleration value, the airbag control unit might deploy occupant restraint systems incorrectly or, in the event of a crash, might not deploy occupant restraint systems. This could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
