What are the defects?

The compliance label on some trailers may have been printed with an incorrect Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) and tare mass that is lower than the actual mass of the machine. In addition, the safety chains may have not been permanently marked to indicate the breaking stress as required by the Australian Design Rules (ADR).

What are the hazards?

The trailer is not compliant with ADR 61/02 and 62/02.

What should consumers do?

Owners can contact their preferred authorised Vermeer dealer immediately to replace the label, and install stamped safety chains free of charge.

Should a Vermeer dealer have to travel to a customer’s location, Vermeer will provide reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with its policies and standard practices.
