What are the defects?
The StyleRide Removable Seat System has been identified as not being compliant with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 68/00 (Occupant Protection in Buses), as the removable seat may deform during an accident.
What are the hazards?
During an accident, the vehicle attached mounting rail, which is supplied as part of the StyleRide system may fail. As a result the seat could become dislodged from the vehicle floor. If the seat were to become dislodged it may cause serious injury or death of the seat occupants and/or other passengers.
What should consumers do?
Passengers should be immediately excluded from using the StyleRide Removable Seat System, either by removing the seat or preventing passenger use.
Owners of affected vehicles can contact StyleRide to make arranged to have the seat modified to remove the safety risk and ensure compliance with ADR68/00
