What are the defects?

Due to an incorrect setting on the external remote control, the remote brake request feature does not engage the parking brake under certain speed conditions (low speed).

What are the hazards?

If the parking brake does not engage, this could result in unintended vehicle movement. This may increase the risk of an accident, which may result in an injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.

What should consumers do?

Volvo Car Australia will contact affected owners in writing to request that owners make an appointment to have the vehicle repaired.
