What are the defects?
A short circuit impacting the vehicle's electronic system may occur if the positive wiring to the starter motor becomes chafed. This wiring may become chafed as a result of regular vehicle use.
What are the hazards?
Depending on the type of short circuit, there may be a risk of fire, and/or the engine may not be able to be restarted once it has been shut down. This increases the risk of an accident, which may cause injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.
