What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the wiring harness of the steering control unit may be damaged. The damage can allow water or moisture into the wiring harness, which can cause a short circuit, resulting in a loss of electric power steering.
A failure of the electric power steering would be indicated by a corresponding warning message in the instrument panel.
