What are the defects?

If the electrical earth wire that is fitted underneath either front seat becomes detached, an electrostatic charge can cause the side airbag to deploy when the car is stationary and whilst the occupants are exiting one of the front seats. This may cause serious injuries to the occupants of the vehicle.

What are the hazards?

An unintentional airbag deployment is likely to result in serious injury of vehicle occupants as they exit the vehicle.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their preferred Holden dealership immediately. Arrange a repair via the Holden website at www.holden.com.au or call 1800 632 826.
