What are the defects?

The WK Jeep Grand Cherokee tow bar kit has bolts and washers that may lose torque during towing.

What are the hazards?

If the bolts and washers on the tow bar lose torque during towing, the tow bar may become loose and/or detach from the vehicle, potentially posing a risk of serious accident to the vehicle occupants or other road users that can lead to severe injury or death.

What should consumers do?

Check if your vehicle’s VIN is listed in ‘VIN List compatible to tow bar kit - January 2021’ (attached above). If yes, follow the instructions at ‘How to identify the affected tow bars’ (attached below) to identify whether you have the affected tow bar. If you have the affected tow bar (or are in any doubt), stop using your tow bar immediately and contact your nearest Jeep dealer to arrange a free inspection and repair of the vehicle.

For more information, call FCA Australia at 1300 133 079 or email auscustomercare@fcagroup.com or visit https://www.jeep.com.au/dealers.html to find your nearest Jeep dealer.
